Professional Training and Certification for Personal History Practitioners Professional development for personal historians Memoir University offers a comprehensive training program for teachers and writers who want to craft and sustain a viable writing-based practice in their own communities--leading writing workshops, offering writing services such as editing, writer coaching and book production, becoming a resource for those who seek to preserve their personal and family stories. Memoir University professional training courses include in-depth memoir writing and group critique in a workshop setting, plus long distance learning tele-classes in curriculum methods and writing services. Business coaching for "creatives" In addition, the comprehensive Business Development Seminar provides a practical component to ensure success. This semester-long tele-class includes vocational and financial goal setting, office management fundamentals, and a publicity crash course. The training culminates in a practical and specifically tailored 12-month business plan based on each participant's articulated goals. In the supportive, collegial atmosphere of the courses, participants accomplish their assignments in real time over the course of the program, sharing challenges and successes with their peers. |
